Elegant Design

TAP ELECTRONICS presents a whole new
design of ROBOCAM S,
which makes it clearly distinguishable
from other pipeline crawlers in the industry.
This specific design has been systematically
developed by design professionals with
numerous design awards,
to whom obtained inspiration from combat aircrafts,
submarines, and luxury sports cars.

ROBOCAM S’ skeleton framework is inherited from
TAP Electronics’ “family-look” design.
Especially, the wheel frame that’s attached on both
sides of the body has an individual motor loaded in each side.
Even though they are separated from the body,
as long as the cable is connected,
then this unique structure enables the wheels on both sides to function independently.

The independent wheel frame is essential for
the extension-deformation of the robot by using the Cube-Cell block.
The Cube-cell block is an innovative robot-transforming platform,
on which the users can transform and infinitely
expand ROBOCAM S to their taste,
similar to how they build LEGO blocks.

The Leading Sensor-Based Technology

01 Inclination Sensor function

One of the representative sensor-based functions of ROBOCAM S roots from gyro-sensor technique, measuring the inclination of the pipe and robot posture control.
The inclination sensor function senses the inclination of the pipe while the crawler is inside and displays the collected data on a graph.

This function prevents the robot from being overturned while driving inside the pipe by displaying the robot’s posture in 3D pitch and roll status in real time.
If the robot is tilted above the predefined angle and the risk of overturning is detected, then system signals the users visually and aurally in real time.

02 Camera Lift – Center Positioning IR Sensor Technology

ROBOCAM S has a special function that allows the robot to automatically
adjust the height of the camera to the center of the pipeline
when it enters the pipeline with an infrared ray sensor (Patent Pending).
This is an unprecedented advanced technology,
allowing the camera to automatically position itself to the origin by one-touch operation and
measure the actual size of a pipeline regardless of sludge and
other obstacles. The pipeline investigation manual of all countries require
that the height of the camera should be positioned in the center of the pipeline.
Though in the past, users had to manually fix the height of the camera based on their
institutions, with ROBOCAM S, it can now automatically locate the camera to the center
and provide accurate sensor-based diameter of the pipe on the inspection report for the users.
In addition, according to the height control of the camera,
the shape is depicted in real time in 3D on the status dashboard,
so the users can operate as if they are the actual crawlers inside the pipe.

03 Camera P/T Direction Sensor

ROBOCAM S is designed to sense the direction of the camera when it is tilting or panning and
displays direction/inclination with numbers and shapes on the STATUS tab.
Also, it restores the camera position to the center of the pipeline,
simply with a single touch after recording the connecting part with rotation.

04 Robot’s Pressure, Humidity and Temperature Sensor

ROBOCAM S is equipped with sensors for inner pressure,
humidity and temperature, which enables the users to monitor
the internal state of the robot crawler system at all times.
This function not only helps the users to detect any leak caused by external impact, but also prevents any severe damage to the internal electrical
components due to abnormally high or low temperature,
thereby preventing the possibility of failure.

User-Oriented System

ROBOCAM S is specially designed to maximize the users’ convenience.
TAP ELECTRONICS has reviewed the data of the pipeline crawlers used for decades and concluded that top-class crawlers are the products that do not easily
get damaged or permeate even in a hazardous environment. However, we are well aware that there are inevitable cases and it is impossible to completely avoid any
damage to the system.
The key point of our research was based on how quickly the users can recover and re-operate the crawler during a busy investigation schedule when damage is done.

ROBOCAM S is specifically designed to prevent water from penetrating the Motor Room or PCBs even
under extremely rough and poor sewage conditions.
The wheel-based skid system has nine gears linked to each side, providing the power to rotate
three wheels each time. The rotation shafts of each wheel have dual waterproof walls with a Q-Ring and
a Teflon seal.

Even if there is a leak in rare cases, because the internal part of the skid is filled with oil for waterproofing,
water cannot fundamentally invade from the outside.
PCB boards, which are responsible for the control and voltage power of the crawler body, are isolated
inside the waterproof sealing chamber and its waterproof performance is 100 meters by vacuum decompression
technology.

which allows them to easily replace and repair the system with simple living tools.
Any corresponding parts ordered by users will be delivered within three business days.
Also, if the users decide to return the defected parts to the head office, then they may be compensated as well.
